Judaism

Like all primitive people, the ancient Hebrews, had their own tribal god. His name was Yahweh, and like all gods, Yahweh reflected the qualities of the people who invented him. Yahweh was the ultimate patriarch and dictator -- angry, jealous, competitive and self-righteous. And like most dictators, Yahweh could be appeased through obedience, bribery, and appealing to his vanity.

Over the time Jews compiled a book about their god and called it "the Torah". The message of that book was that if you obey "god" he will protect you from his own violence, but if you don't, he will punish you, or perhaps your children or your grand children, as god's time scale is much larger than the human. Of course the real beneficiaries of this obedience were the the priesthood as only few insane people have ever halucinated "god" directly. At times the priesthood would rule the Jews directly, at other times they found it more expedient to stay behind the scenes letting the secular rulers take the heat.

Like all people Jews thought themselves to be special and better than others. They immagined that they were the chosen people of their own god. This was not unique and not much different than Athenians thinking that they were the chosen people of Athena.

As centuries passed, the Hebrew desert savages settled down and slowly tranlformed into a semi-civilized nation. Their god began to reflect their progress and on a good day he could even be compassionate, and caring. One important quality that god never developed was a sense of humor, he continued to take himself very seriously.

From time to time there were people among the Jews who claimed to bring a new message from the god. Usually the message was "you are all going to suffer" , or "you are suffering because you are not obeying god!" These men were called prophets.

Everything was well, until one of these prophets, Yeshua from Nazaret, came up with a very different message. Apparently Yeshua went to India where he studied some Buddhism. When he came home a with this new revelation from "god" majority of the Jews were not ready to accept his teachings as they were way over their had.

Until Jesus, Judaism was purely a tribal religion, and there was very little interest amond Jews in converting others. However the disciples of Yeshua, while not being successful at spreading their teachings among Jews, decided to spread their net into the other nations. This was the beginning of the greatest calamity of all times, the beginning of the first successful proselytizing religion. Christianity remained basically a Jewish sect -- it retained the old Jewish books which they called the Old Testament. To the Old Testament they added the saying of Yeshua and some writings of his disciples.

Orrigins of anti-Semitisme

To try to understand Judaim, it is necessary to understand the climate in which Jews have lived for the last 2000 years, the most important circumstance for the formation of Jewish religious thought in the last 2000 years is the fact that Jews have been hated by others for longer and more intensly than any other nation. Here are the religious roots of anti-Semitisme:

The non Jewish Christians, accepted the notions that Jews are the "chosen people of god". Thus the small nation of Jews found the support for their superstition in a large portion of humanity. This, together with the Christian anger at Jews for their conspiring with Ramans to killi Jesus (the Raman name for Yeshua) has become the foundation of 2000 years of anti-Semitism (the hatred of Jews). Another source of anti-Semitims was Jewish rejetion of Mohamad, who innitially sought their allience.

Like Quran, and other primitive teachings, the Jewish religion and their (and Christian) "holy scripture" The Bible" is full of bloody homicidal passages.
What makes Judaism better then Christianity and Islam is mainly the fact that Jews had not had the power, and hence the teaching were not acted upon.

Here are some examples of the Biblical genocidal teachings:

Numbers 31
17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

Deuteronomy 7
2 and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. [1] Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

Deuteronomy 20
13 When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. And you may use the plunder the Lord your God gives you from your enemies.
